CMPRO LEO 110
Is anyone flying one of these yet? I have one under the christmas tree, and I,m not allowed to touch. "YET"
See it at www.cmpairplane.com |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Nope, but it and the Scorpion 140 sure "Look About Right"....nice that they put three views...but they sure don't have any info on their website!!!
Where did Santa get your gift from? |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
The British distributor Flair has a bit more information.

RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Santa got it from my local hobby shop here in Australia. I'm going to power it with a Moki 135. Only about 50 grams heavier than an OS FS-120III, and I'm a 2 stroke fan!!

RE: CMPRO LEO 110
If the length demension on the Flair website is correct, it is awfully short. Maybe it should be 1743?

RE: CMPRO LEO 110
It's good to see that they've removed that horrifically large counterbalance from the rudder, as it made rudder trimming a real pain in the a*se.
It would make the swallows waggle too. The Leo looks like it'd be a nice aircraft with a TT 120 Pro in it. Food for thought. |

ORIGINAL: GREG1 Santa got it from my local hobby shop here in Australia. Very 'tasty' btw. [sm=RAINFRO.gif] |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Actually, yeah, good point Sigrun!
GREG1 (not that i'm the original greg but hey, we're getting off topic) I didn't even know there was an LHS in Gero. Where'd you get it? SPILL! :) |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
edit: double post
|
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Got it from toyworld, or my other half did. We had a chrissy budget of 500 each, so I guess it was less than that.(She wont tell me, but I will find out eventually.)
|
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Ta. Haven't seen 'em locally yet. No surprise as that will be first batch imported by Model Engines. Good to have a local guinea pig...oops..er test pilot - for CMPro's Leo Mk I! ;)
Are you seriously going to go with that Moki for pattern? |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
hehehe. Nice to see your other half looks after you!
Might have to look at one when I get the chance. My Swallow cost me $400 from DHS. |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
I found some nice pictures of the Leo 110. Hope they don“t come out too big.

RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Beautiful pictures, Erik! Thanks for posting... the 269 Euros price works out to about $350 USD, but that sure ain't bad, looking at the degree of completion, and stuff included!!!
DOES ANYONE know of sources in the US for this product line? (Like the Scorpion - it sure looks like a keeper of a 2M bird!!) |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Nice looking plane!
|
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
I'm glad to see they've at least made it have a pipe tunnel and belly pan.
I ended up making my swallow look like that. Seems like this airplane is a little more thought out than the swallow. Good to see. IMHO. |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Radio Models in Perth has the Leo for $447, which doesn't seem to bad of a price.
|
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
I don't buy anything from Radio Models.
Family history with that shop demands it. |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Hey Renegade
Even my CMPro Magpie has a pipe tunnel! I suspect the Swallow EX which followed the original Swallow 90 fiasco was the "will it be a sales success?" testbed. I think it even preceded the Lark and Magpie testing across the market for sports pattern product appeal. Great to see them following up with the niche orientated Leo and Scorpion, and at such amenable pricing. I've dealt with RCS a couple of times. Never seen 'em up close 'n personal and don't think I'd wanna' after your comment. Not my favourite at all as they're a complete PITA to deal with if you're any sort of an "attention to detail please!" person. Leave stuff out of mail orders and substitute product despatching without asking or advising. But they are the cheapest in town when they can supply. Without exception, the LHS hate their guts with a vengence! :D |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Jet Hobbies in Canada handles the CMPro line. They list the Leo 110 on their website as "coming soon".
|
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Exactly my point Sigrun, I won't say too much as I could be up for defamation.
But I am very much an attention to detail person, and if I dont get what I want I won't buy it. Fussy little bugger aren't I? The original swallow had a pipe cavity which held the pipe out in the breeze. I hated it so much it dissapeared before the first flight. |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
DOnt buy from Radio Model supplies, they are a bunch of ripoffs, they dont have a single item instock, when you order, they order it from the supplyer.
I got one sitting here if anyone wants it, $460 aus, |
RE: CMPRO LEO 110
Philpop, while I agree, I wouldn't put too much in print.
(just a warning) Philpop, where did yours come from if you don't mind me asking? |
