Problem with glow connector

Hi all,

I've been using the TY1 screw on glow plug connector (which was recommended as the best). But as soon as my OS1.40Rx kicks, it shakes off the connector.
Same deal with the standard type of spring loaded connector. Anyone else have this problem, and what are you guys using that stays on. That little engine can sure kick!

There's another thread going about this topic. Seems that the little "hairpin clips" offer the best hold, and are easiest to work with. Check it out.

Yup, I've been following that thread. Maybe a remote connector is the way to go, but since I've got a nice big hole in my cowl chin already, I thought I'd try to stay with a direct connector, instead of drilling yet another hole!

Any other ideas? Some-one must be using something that works.

Regards.

Steve

:: Duh :: You wrote "glow connector", I interpreted it wrongly.
The BEST out there is the McDaniel, now marketed by Sullivan....the "Pro Head Lock", and it's stainless steel barrel, push-twist to lock. Eventually it wears out, but it's pretty short, and light, so as long as it's not hitting the sides, lasts a long time...

Periodic cleaning with spray carburetor cleaner (not connected to the battery, of course) keeps things conductive.... I have two, and they've lived well.

I second Bobs use on the Pro head lock if you dont want to use a remote, Ive used a long one for two seasons now, its a good product.

On a side note I noticed that one of the heli MFRs makes a glo-connector just like Chris describes above, but its $13.
