CA Models Eclipse Datum Line?

I'm hoping someone can tell me a few things about this airplane.

1. Whats the down thrust molded into the fuse nose ring?

2. Is the canopy rail supposed to be zero incidence?

3. Is the wing supposed to be near 1/2 degree positive?

4. Is the stab supposed to be 0?

5. I need a starting point from which to measure. (Datum Line)

I have one that appears to be way out of whack and I need to get back to a starting point. But I need to know what the starting point is.

Thanks for your time.

The canopy rail is not parallel to the datum. However if you block the canopy rail up to level, then the stab is at +1 degree to the canopy rail, and the wing is +1 3/4 degrees to the canopy rail. These are the settings that I have on my 2 Eclipses.
I think that in reality the stab is zero to the datum, and the wing is +3/4 to the datum.

I have posed a picture of the datum line I use in my Eclipses. Ignore the right and down thrust angles shown on the picture. The right and down thrust as molded in the fuse seem to be just fine. Here is the link http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/CA_M...1503184/tm.htm

Good luck,

Steve

Thanks !!!!!!!!

That's that's exactly what I needed! When I blocked the canopy rail up to zero , after I'd set it up the way I thought it should be by using the nose ring down thrust as a starting point , I came out at 3/4 positive on the stab and about 1 1/4 on the wings so it should be close.

Hmmmmmmmmm

Well I went back and checked again and the canopy rail is way different from side to side. When the right side is level the left is off almost a degree. (*^%(#%($)*%*$^! Mind telling me which side you went from?

The measurements I posted were from the right side of the canopy rail. I just looked up my notes on both my Eclipses, and both have a difference of 1/4 degree between the left and right sides of the canopy rail. Hope this helps. I can measure other things if you need when I get home in a few days.

The datum line is molded into the fuse. If you look at the side of the fuse you should see about three small dots that run along the side. they intersect the wing tube, adjuster mount, and wing bolt location. Draw a line through the dots and level to that line. Once you have the model leveled to your thrust line you can set the wing incindence at +3/4 degrees and the stabs at 0 degrees. I hope this helps, I don't trust the canopy rails for the datum line.
