2m entry level
 

I wish to move up to an entry-level (read not too expensive...lol) 2m pattern plane, probably utilizing the Super-Tigre 2300 engine. Build-up or A.R.F., either way ok. Any suggestions?...Big_G

If you're wanting to get started in pattern and looking for something to fly in
sportsman class you actually have a bigger choice than most. In sportsman you
can fly any airplane that is AMA legal , you don't need to stick to the 2 meter rule.
Lots of choices there. If you want something to get you through intermediate,
advanced, etc then you have to stay within the 2 meter and weight rules.

The Icepoint from http://www.ultra-rc.com is probably your best bet. It is like $479 and is a very capable 2m ship. There are folks flying it in Masters and FAI P05. If you check out http://www.rcaerobats.net you can get alot of helpful info. Hope this helps and welcome to the pattern addiction.

P.S. if you dont already have the ST 2300 another great choice is an OS 160. There is info on Bob's website about setting it up for pattern. It is more then enough power to pull you through any class.

Once you get your plane, or when you want to start practicing some pattern stuff, I have a web site that may help - it's focused on Sportsman / Intermediate pattern.

I just saw that the Focus II ARC is on sale now at Piedmont Models for $395.

This is an excellent pattern ship and the price is right.

Thanks for the comments. So many choices, so little money...lol...I think the Wild Hare 1.20 edge with a ST2300 sounds good...any opinions?
