Pattern/f3a plane
Hi. I have an os 160 and an os tuned pipe laying around. What f3a plane would you recomend for this engine. The only pattern plane i know of and have seen first hand in this size is world models zen 120. Some picks of yours plane would be nice.

RE: Pattern/f3a plane
Do you want to build? or an ARF,
If you like to build, and you consider this first plane a step up, then I would recommend a Xtra-2000, a complete wood design from the former (multiple) Dutch F3A champion. In holland about 60% - 70% of the planes the competition is this Xtra-2000, and because there are also two smaller versions (one for a 15cc, one for 8cc) also the pilots with limitted money can buy a plane that really flies well. http://www.xs4all.nl/~hobbyin/paginas/x-tra2000.htm The text in the link is in dutch, but there are a lot of pictures.... Last year this plane won from much more expensive planes like angel shadow, Alliance etc.... Good luck, Winfried de Vries |

RE: Pattern/f3a plane
Two other options I have hands on experience with are:
- Diablo 2000 (http://www.modellbau-bichler.com/pro...001727aa00fd73) - HIGH SOCIETY (www.f3alorenz.de) http://www.f3alorenz.homepage.t-onli...ml#Highsociety These are available in ARF..... Good luck Winfried |
RE: Pattern/f3a plane
For the absolute I recomend you a Piedmon "Brio", it comes with a high level of pre-fabrication, and will handle the 160 without problems.

RE: Pattern/f3a plane
I've had a Diablo 2000, wouldn't recommand it for pattern flying....
The Xtra2000 is a good plane, but needs some building experience Protech in Belgium makes the ARF Tojeiro wich is pretty good also I think (in the lower price categorie) but I don't know if you'll find it in the states?! I fly my ZN Enigma with an OS160FX.... super combination :D can't you find any second hand model ??? good luck, Bert |
