"Smart" fuel pumps

Anybody know of any fuel pumps that tell you how much fuel you have put in the tank? I'm thinking probably electric with a digital read-out saying 18.1oz etc. Want one for part filling the tank at comps.

Cheers,

Angus

Hi Angus,

no I don't - at least not at a reasonable cost suitable for modelling purposes, but try this - get a tank of the capacity you want to put into the plane, fill that first, and then fill the plane from this tank. You'll know for sure exactly how much you've put in, and it will cost almost nothing.

Tape a scale on the side of your field tank.
Easy to see how much to pump in the plane.

Angus,

As you know I have a fuel pump which has a digital readout that tells me how much fuel I've added - its made by Shulze!

i use a manual pump,u can try this:pump ur tank full and count the number of turns,
tank capacity divided by number of turns, then u will know how much fuel 1 turn pumps,
from then on ,u can decide how much u wanna pump.

I put a smaller tank in for comps. That way you also save weight of the tank as well. Try measuring the weight difference between a 16oz and 20oz Tettra - you will be surprised.

Cheers Malc!

I've done all the "count the number of turns" methods, problem is my normal fuel pump is broken and I quite fancy an electric do dah. Doubt there is one of the kind I'm after.

On another note, does anyone know what fuel pump it is that screws directly onto the Coolpower bottles?

Thanks,

Ahem,

Electric F3A saves the day again! That would be the Slimline pump available here
