Angus, I thought the Zeque flew just as well as the Astral w/ anhedral stab. The Super Shot, on the other hand...

Yes, I was v.v.impressed with the Zeque. The Super Shot also really grew on me and I thought it presented very well. Im sure they will all fly brilliantly but for me the Astral XX is the best looking and also available in ARTF form through Xtreme Composite/Emerald hobby (guess what I'm getting for next season ;)). I don't know of the Zeque or Super Shot being buyable.

Is there a website for the Xtreme Hobby? Or is the Astral XX going to be available in the US?

The Astral-XX will be available in the US from Oxai.US We are in the process of make the first run at this moment for Mr. Naruke. The next run will be completed after the first of the year.

They are completely different kits of course. As far as I know the Xtreme Composite one is identical to the Naruke Hobby version i.e. Onda's (except it's all composite, not wood). The Oxai Astrals have a solid canopy and a different colour scheme on the bottom. The new Oxai XX may be identical but the Oxai Astral X wasn't.

As for me well I'm definitely going for the Xtreme Composite one. It even has the tank and carbon rod elevator push-rod installed for you! Pre drilled for Hyde mount etc etc. Just drop your gear in and off you go.

When I get a web address for Xtreme or Emerald Hobby I will post it here.

Somehow I'm reminded of the anhedral stabs that swept pattern about 25-30 years ago thanks to Hanno.....

Monkey see, monkey do. I wonder how many people putting these things on thier planes actually know what they are aupposed to do?

I'm sure there is a little something to it. The question is how much. But it's funny to watch :D

I have an exact copy of CPLR's on my Enigma, there is something to it as it completely removed the pitch mixing I had in knife edge even with extreme amounts of rudder. It also significantly increased the effectivness of the rudder especially in level flight. I am down around 15 degrees of deflection for everything but snaps/spins, about 50% of that is required for sustained knife edge flight. I was running around 20 degrees for a similar feel prior to adding the wing.

So in my opinion it certainly has an effect.....the question I am still resolving is if the changes caused by the appendage is truly benefitial or not. The plane flew great before and it flies great now :)

Go back and look at the pic in post #2...It's no joke, that's where all this stuff is heading. It's my version of Nat Penton's Voodoo Express. He's been flying his for years (now flying it electric on a Plett motor). Mine is 7-1/2 lbs on a YS110 with 860 squares, 67" span/78" long. This plane flies straight with zero down/zero right thrust, no dihedral, and has no coupling with rudder application....

BTW Although some may be legimiate experiments, I sure most of the pics presented here are staged for our entertainment...:eek:

That's my question too. I know it does good things, but "is it worth it". Play with it and let us know will ya? I'm not quite ready to put one of those on mine yet ;)

Its such a small difference its difficult to really say yay or nay!

If nothing else it will get you lots of pics of your airplane at events LOL....maybe that is what CPLR was going for :)
