After flying an Electric Genesis..
I would tell you all how well the electric version of the Genesis flies, but it might cause an ordering delay for me[8D]...
oh well what the heck.... All I can say is holy cow I didnt realize I could fly that well...;) I wanted one anyway,, but after a test flight there is no doubt, it is nothing like I have ever flown before,, that is flying electric and or the Genesis airframe. From an intermediate/advanced level pilot perspective,, flying the masters pattern it was nothing short of stunning. The really unbelieveable thing was the lack of torque issues at the exit of a snap and how well it held a line in any attitude without correction. That right ME, a mediocre, mid level pilot sticking snap after snap in uplines, downlines, anywhere in a loop I wanted to snap.. And on exit it tracked straight out with little or no rudder correction... I have got to get me one no kidding around... I Might even be able to get within 100 points of Brett, Mark and Jim with it. |

RE: After flying an Electric Genesis..
Well, it won't be electric, but we're looking really hard at an ARC Genesis. Could transfer Todd's program (which is on Jim's radio) straight to my radio. I really liked his setup when I flew Todd's old genesis (now Jim's) :)
Plus the fact that everyone and their brother has one down here, tooonnns of setup help. |

BTW Brett, we met only briefly at the Nats, but I had the pleasure of judging you in the 5th round. You have some real talent. Congradulations on your championship, from what I saw, you earned it. I thought Mark and Dennis flew exceptionally well too that round, but you were a tad more solid throughout. Dang I gotta fly against you in advanced next year? As if AC wasn't bad enough.....oh well, I suppose I better go get a flatbed full of fuel and start practicing now!! Good luck to you and I hope to see you at the nats next year (where you're goin down sucka!!!!) <-----stirring up the drama early LOL -Mike |
RE: After flying an Electric Genesis..
Hello BigNed,
Could you tell us about your engine set-up: motor, prop, controlleur, battery, rpm, amps? Thank's, Benoit ORIGINAL: BigNed I would tell you all how well the electric version of the Genesis flies, but it might cause an ordering delay for me[8D]... oh well what the heck.... RE: After flying an Electric Genesis..
LOL, Benoit I wish. It isnt my plane, it belongs to Todd Blose. But it was incredible.
Brett, that plane needs a pilot like you to fly it. Im not kidding, its a totally different flying experience,,, you will have a lot of 10's in your future with it. Of course the person who put it together probably had a lot to do with the way it flies. Mike, yep Im flying Masters next year. :D Its a fun pattern and its challenging. Since I'll probably never go to the NATS I just do what I enjoy, I have tried all the patterns but FAI is a little too ugly to fly in front of judges. I just fly for fun and treat it like golf, being that my greatest competitor/obstacle is my own ability.. With masters I can do all of the maneuvers comfortably, they just need to be cleaned up a bit. Nothing 100 gallons or 10000 battery charges cant take care of.;) If I can swing it I will build one this fall and be ready for next spring, but thats a big if .... |
RE: After flying an Electric Genesis..
Benoit,
Here is the set up on the Electric Genesis that Big Ned flew Motor is the Hacker C50 13XL and the Master 90-O-Acro speed controller. I also ran the motor on a Hyde soft mount with a nose ring The batteries are Thunder power TP5300-5S4P with a APC 20 x 13 E prop Not sure on the RPM but the Amps are 65 to 70 |
