Good Pattern plane Learning Aerobatics???

Opinions on how to proceed in learning aerobatics and a good plane.

I have been flying, high wing, low wing and Hog Bipe for a while. My goal is to learn more aerobatics. Maybe 3d in the future. The specs on the SIG Mayhem look very good. I could fly at low rates and gradually increase as I perfect the maneuvers.

Thanks,

Gary

You didnt say what kind of budjet or motor you were working with but there are a lot of good planes on the market , GP Kaos, Venus, World models Groovy 40-90, Quest, Exelloron, Aresti, Showtime. Just to name a few any one of these would be a good step up to learn on.

I like the selection that CAMODEL has:

from ".40 size" to full 2 meter, kits ARCs, ARFs. A decent range or Distributors and Dealers too.

Thanks, for the responce

I like larger planes from 65 to 70 " wing. The engine would be a 4 stroke, 91 or 1.20 based on the weight of the aircraft.

For 65" wing size, I'd recommend the Quest, Excelleron, Swallow, anything from the CA Models lineup.

You got the right idea about the low rates--except I'd leave them low. High rates is for 3D; pattern planes all fly at very modest throws on ailerons & elevator--usually around 12˚.

Great Planes has the new larger Venus coming out. And I know the Hanger 9 showtime is a great flying airplane as well. On the showtime, just keep the rates down and its a great flying airplane. I've flown P-07 with one and it flew very nicely.

I've had word that the Synergy 90 3D makes a good pattern plane with the rates turned right down.

And popular at the moment are the Flair/Jamara Leo and Swallow
