Pattern Plane Stand?

A few weeks back there was a picture of a pattern plane sitting in a stand. The stand was pretty cool looking and was pretty simple to make. I was wandering if anyone has the link to the picture that was on that forum. Thanks

The link is http://www.executiveairframes.com/cu...lery/c051.html

It's Bryan Hebert's plane, and if memory serves Raiko Potter came up with these stands. Not sure if he had anything to do with this particular one. The Executive Airframes crowd is well known for thier flashy equipment. you'd have to see some of this stuff in person to really appreciate it, it's fine craftsmanship on every level.

I've seen a beautiful one in a Japanese magazine... it was all trendy and metal and anodised and folding and minimal and ...mmmmmm gotta have it!!! Will try and upload a scan for us to drool at. Have to say I'm a real sucker for the anodised and carbon stuff....

I just built one of the Wooden one like the link above. It came out very nice. If you can get a picture of the Anodized one I could copy it and CNC it out at School.

Is it just me or does that look like it's made from masonite?

I am going to make my own from foam, and then I might line it with some carbon or something, depending on time.

Plane stand

Check this thread from the Product announcement & mfg. news forum http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...89&forumid=134

I have one of these and really like it. It is the only stand that will really hold my UCD-3D well for assembly and startind. Now if the Widebody would just arrive!

How about something like this?
I tried to build one for a while, and just found better pictures.
This is what Japanese use most of time. It can be used as a stand, and plane holder. I've seen people running their engine while the plane was held on this stand.

I have more pictures at above link
Here is one.

Pattern Flyer - That is so cool. Is there a dealer to buy one from in the states?

John,
there isn't any dealer here in the states.
Flight Hobby in Japan is now selling the stand kit.

I listed some more info on the flight hobby in GrandSlam 90 and Stage 90 thread.

Pattern Flyer,
Well in that case guess I'll make my own patterned after the photos in your previous thread, that you so graciously have shared.

Thanks again,
John

Are you referring to the Avistar or the stand :D

BTW, where did you find that stand, that's pretty nice. I've seen one at the field before but not sure where to get it.

Thanks,
Keith

Heh. I did the maiden flights on a newbie's Avistar a couple of weeks ago. Gave him a couple of lessons even though I'd neglected to bring the buddy-box along. Had to wrestle the TX from him a few times to save the plane. Man do I hate training w/o the buddy-box!

As for the box. I got it through a certain website whose name I can't mention or this post will get nuked too. http://home.earthlink.net/~dojbofh/i...ppy-shrink.gif Email me if yuo want details.
