Cermark Javelin Right Thrust?
 

Hi;
I may have posted this in the wrong forum last week and got no responses. Let me try again in this forum:
I just installed the engine on my second Cermark Javelin and noticed that there appears to be a tremendous amount of right thrust on the engine. My first Javelin was RTF and came with the engine installed and the cowling already trimmed and fitted. This plane was done in by a bad (ACOMS) aileron servo which would continue past neutral after centering. I almost got it back to the field, but at low speeds the effects were much worse. I got a second ship - an ARF this time. (And JR digital servos!) I used the pre-drilled engine mounts from the first plane and the engine, which was undamaged. The amount of right thrust is pretty significant. In fact, it is so much that the spinner "hangs out" approximately 1/8" out board of the right side of the cowling and a similar 1/8" worth of cowling shows on the left. I could trim the cowling to align it with the prop but that would make the whole fuselage look like a banana. Now, I know that the Javelin comes with built in right thrust already set into the engine bulkhead, but this appears ridiculous. Am I missing something here? Thanks!!

Why not fly it and check if the side thrust is correct?(fly exactly into any wind,and with wings exactly level pull into vertical climb).
Straight up--OK--Yaws right---decrease side thrust--Yaws left, increase side thrust.
Check the up/down thrust similarly, this time with any breeze exactly cross wind.
When satisfied, if the spinner looks silly(they often do!), a slightly smaller one will look better--still wrong, but with none sticking out beyond the cowl.
Or discard the spinner and just use a safety nut--lighter, cheaper, and often better balanced.
