OTOP ENGINE MOUNT
What engine mount are you using. I am going to be using a os 160. Was thinking of trying a budd mount but don't know if it will fit.

Hello Twort
My friend use a BudEngi flexmount to put engine MVVS 160 on his O TOP. He put a personal nose ring because BudEngi don't sell it. But nose ring is easy to find in any shops. No problem with this. He did many flights. My friend use BudEngi because it's very cheap. |
RE: OTOP ENGINE MOUNT

How is the performance of your friends MVVS 1.60 in his OTOP ? I've always liked MVVS engine but I haven't seen the 1.60 , they are hard to find around here. tommy s |
RE: OTOP ENGINE MOUNT
Hello
I asked my friend Christophe who is owner of this MVVS. He told me : No breaking on ground. Breaking in flight with rich set up. carburant = 15 % oil, 10 % nitro. Propeller APC 17x13 N. Very powerfull for the OTOP. Now he noticed just a variation of set up one (rich, lean !) day and other days. May be engine is not enought running or the regulator Webra must be set ? Regards On my OS 160 FX I used a regulator Cline and I never got problem of set up with. May be Cline is better than Webra ! |
RE: OTOP ENGINE MOUNT
I just tried the HYDE A type mount and found the engine sticks out too far. This mount is pre drilled. I also noticed the engine has quite a bit of down thrust leaving a larger gap between the spinner at the top than at the bottom. Maybe I made some kind of mistake. I plan on calling BVM props tomorrow and asking this same dumb question " should the engine line up with the firewall or the front of the plane?". Any help appriciated?
