Count me in also. Am bringing the tent again, so hope to hoot and howl at the moon a bit( not quite sure what that means but sounds like fun anyway.) I don't have night fliers though.

What a competition, I'm hooked. I actually cant wait for the next one and get some practice in. I'm sure I can fly better with out the contest jitters, however those jitters are what made it so much fun. Great meeting everyone and thanks for all the help. I wish I would have discovered this years ago. Anyone have a good used Genisis, Symphony, or Aries? LOL :D

Hope to see ya'll at Jetero, in a couple weeks. Dylan F

Many thanks to BW, Bobby, Paul, Max, and many other temple aeromodelers for their time and effort to put on the event.

Can someone post the results please?

Divesplat 05-22-2006 09:20 AM

RE: May Temple contest

The results are posted at Don Ramsey's Barnstormer website.

Bobby and BW again, put on a very good contest. 21 pilots with a fair spead through all the classes. I still am shaking from being knife edge on landing at 3 feet high right in front of me. AAUUGGHHHHH

IN regards to the Contest... Saturday was a blast.. Sunday was a different story.

Note: Pattern planes fly poorly without ailerons.

Good to see everyone, all the new electrics and knowledge shared by others.

See you guys in Nederland.

Chuck,

Sounds like there is a story there worth telling!!! What happened? I see on Ramsey's page you won, I just hope you didnt come with a cost......

RE: May Temple contest

Having a competitive plane made of wood= $1000.00
Not plugging in your ailerons = $0.00
Winning the contest = :D

Having to rebuild your plane before NATS=[sm=crying.gif]

It is a short story in two parts. Part 1 Takeoff
Part 2 Crash

RE: May Temple contest

That doesn't go far enough to describe it though. Chuch was actually on final, yes he was able to fly around after he noticed the ail weren't working. Once he cleared the trees, he told me he killed the engine and soon as he did the plane went knife edge and without any prop wash over the rudder guess what happened. I could see the full rudder deflection but no speed and it didn't make it to the runway. At least it hit grass (small consolation) as opposed to runway.

This was the first time I have seen the fliton Infinity perform, and Tim flew it very well. However, I was not able to get a close picture due to the pair of viscious gaurd dogs that kept watch over it for the owner:D.

Sorry Chuck,.....just couldn't resist. You flew that thing pretty well without ailerons....if it had some roll coupling you might have made it;)

Had a pic here of Dylan's Oxalys (sounds like a prescription drug doesn't it?) which flew very, very well on a saito .82
