How about "I am just starting to get into pattern and love it". Unfortunatly I recently distroyed my pattern plane and am waiting till I can to afford a new one. With flying season here it will be a while.

RE: Is pattern really dead?
I voted for "more than it's bad share of publicity". Here in the UK whenever F3A is mentioned in the modelling press by a non F3A person they invariably just slag it off. These people on the whole don't know what it's about or don't understand it so as was mentioned in the other thread it all looks exactly the same to them but why they feel the need to slag it off is beyond me. Jealous of our skills perhaps, who knows.
Another ex F3A type has also taken it upon himself to slag us off in most of the articles he writes. He will say it is boring and is like watching paint dry etc etc. I view this as highly irresponsible as he is writing in a national magazine and is still a highly regarded modeller; hence people listen to what he says. In my opinion he will undoubtedly be putting people off F3A at a time when we need all the newcomers we can get our hands on. Fortunately we now have a pro-active PRO so things are looking up I think. I also have written a couple of articles myself on big comps, anything to raise public awareness of what we do. A |

I just flew my 1st contest, I havent had an adrenaline rush like this since racing dirtbikes. Plus I didnt blow out a knee, colllarbone, or achilles tendon. I wish I would have found pattern earlier. Great people, fun, and flying.
