Teach An Old Dog......
OK,
So I'm practicing after a LONG absense from the pattern world and a couple of questions dawned on me. 1. Does the pilot still call his maneuvers or does the caller? 2. How often does sportsman fly 2 sequences per flight? Help please. Jim |
RE: Teach An Old Dog......
No manuevers have to be called. Just the entry and exiting of the box.
How many times the Sportsman sequence is flown during a flight is usually up to the CD. Next years sequence, however, will be a little bit longer. |

When I began competing in the year 2000 I've always had someone to call each maneuver inside the box, to remind me of the order of maneuvers and making it easier for the judges to keep scores. An experienced caller is like a security blanket during a contest to help the pilot relax and concentrate on flying. I don't know about everyone else but I still get nervous in front of judges. The caller also assists in carrying your aircraft to the runway prior to takeoff and retrieving it after it has landed, rolled out and come to stop under control. Hope you're practicing the new 2007 sequence. I recommend practicing with a caller. By the way, all classes will be flying one sequence per round at our contest in December. Steve Homenda |

RE: Teach An Old Dog......
Jim,
You can find the 2007' scoresheets on the NSRCA website http://www.nsrca.org/scoresheetsA.htm The district has 2007' callsheets under their "downloads tab" http://www.nsrca.org/d8/ Troy Newman was kind enough to create drawings for the sequences as well...they can be found on flyinggiants http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=7800 -mark |
