What motor mount is this??

Hello,

I'm in the process of trying to get a Dr. Jeckyll PH.D back in the air again and was wondering what mount this is in the pics below. The fella that had it before me said that the spinner was rubbing the fuse because of the mount shifting due to torque of the engine. I'm looking to put a YS-120 4-stroke in it and that is what was in it before.
Are these mounts good or should I get something else??
Are does it just need to be replaced with a new one?? The rubber isolaters are real soft due to the glow fuel.
Can I just replace the rubber isolaters are should I just get a whole new mount??

Thanks,
Phil

I could be wrong but I believe that is the Dave Brown mount.

Is it a good mount??
It was having some problems with rubbing the front of the fuse, due to torque from the YS engine, according to the last fella that had the plane.

Yes - Dave Brown Vibra-Damp. DB can povide new isolators. Mount is OK with a YS120 - wouldn't use anything larger.

I used it in my Pursuit with a YS 120nc and it worked but I was never happy with the way the motor slapped around at idle.

Also MK made a similar mount. I can't tell from the photo which one it is. The MK had metric screws. I think you can use the DB rubber parts on the MK mount. I had the MK in a USA Star years ago and it needed a nose ring but worked very well.

Vibra Damp:

Dave Brown Main:

If you browse through that site..He's got a Nose Ring also...

I have the MK Version which I havn't tried yet...It looks just like the Dave Brown set-up...I "assumed" you would almost have to use a nose ring along with this type of deal...

Have Fun...

Chuck

That makes sense to me too. The fella that had the plane before me, said that the spinner was rubbing the fuse nose due to the torgue of the engine. So... I got to get a Nose Ring too!!!

Thanks Chuck!!
