Challenger VI ???????
Hi guys, I wondering if anyone can give me a little info on this plane. I bought this from a friend about 6 years ago and I am finally getting back into the hobby.
I would like some info on CG, recommended throws on control surfaces, and maybe prop selection...What kind of RPM's should the engine turn static? Was this a good pattern machine "back in the day"? I'm sure someone here can help.. Thanks in advance!!!! TK Challenger VI YS 61 AR Long Stroke Gator soft mount Hatori Pipe (long and quiet) Supra retracts Gator wing adjusters |
RE: Challenger VI ???????
I just measured the wing span 70". Length approx 66". Fiberglass fuse with sheeted foam wings with rib bay cores removed (wings are very light). Tail wheel recessed in rudder. Maybe this will help[:o]

RE: Challenger VI ???????
Hello,
Pictures help ... I remember a Frackowiak designed Challenge 5 from back in the late eighties. As I remember, it had a distictive shape in the tailcone: the fuselage width pinched toward the tailpost rather than tapering in a straight line. Hope that helps identify the airplane. I put some pics in my gallery. For some reason I could not put them in the post... saying "file too large" only 640x480, but I got them in the gallery.

RE: Challenger VI ???????
That would be a Challenge V. It was my design but I didn't do the styling. I would have preferred a better taper to the fuse top view. But it did fly well. I used one as a back-up when I flew the FYG-Leaf biplane. I also flew one in the 1991 US Team Trials.
