I'll be there! Looks like it'll be the first contest I get to fly in this year. I won't be practiced (what else is new? LOL) but I am REALLY looking forward to it!

And if you need any help let me know. Melissa said she'd score it (and for you guys that know Melissa's scoring....it's second to NONE) so it should go very smoothly.

Birmingham seems to have a nice pattern boom in the works, I for one am definitely going to make the trip to support it. And my friend Mike Wingo especially. This contest has premiere event potential written all over it.

I'm there...

-Mike

Hey Mikey,

Well you know I won't be there, but the boy will and he should have his bells and whistles on. His new VF3 will debut at your contest so make sure he does things right. He might get lonely without me there holding his hand, so give him hell. :D

:D:D
Eighteen pilots made the 1st Magic City Pattern Event a success. Even though we had rain early Saturday morning, we had some great flying conditions that afternoon as well as this morning. The conditions were perfect but the competition was brutal. Most classes were changing after every round with no one certain of their position until the end. I want to thank all the pilots who judged and were callled on often. Now for what those who did not attend want to know:

Sportsman Class ( 7 Pilots)
1 Don Wade 3958.004
2 Doug Harvel 3948.5886
3 Mike Williams 3929.8892
4 Forrest Schaffer 3919.8995
5 Louis Brown 3939.3496
6 Tom Henry 3822.9080
7 Larry Loucks 3425.1584

Intermediate Class (3Pilots)
1 Chris Odom 4000
2 Austin Wingo 3778.0821
3 Dean Funk 3725.2626

Advance Class (5 Pilots)
1 Marcio Jorge 4000.00
2 Jon Lowe 3939.3670
3 Bryan Kennedy 3858.922
4 Jamie Strong 3662.3313
5 Randall Bearden 3447.9915

Masters Class (2 Pilots)
1 Erik Newsholme 4000.00
2 Emory Schroeter 3936.9177

FAI Class (1 Pilot)
Mike Hester

Again, I want to say thank you for coming to our event and making it a success. Also, I would like to offer our appreciation to Mercury Adhesives and Morgan Fuel.
