Recommended Propeller

Hi

I have got a 67" wingspan patternship airplane powered by an SC 120 four-stroke. The propeller I have on it currently is a 16X8, which I used during running in. I have flown it three times and it does not seem to have very much power. What would be the best propeller to use with this set up for the best performance.

Thanks

what kind of RPM are you running now? %nitro also makes a difference!

I would assume a 14x10 would do fine. I have run them on both a OS-91FX and a Saito F125 (but will fit as well on a F100)

I seem to remember that we used 14.4 x12 or 14.4 13 on that engine - probably the x13. Alternatively I think 15x12.

I think I have some so if you are interested I will sell cheap - pm me

PS - what model?

The YS 120SC is a powerful engine and assuming you are not flying a lead sled, (that is no over 5kg in weight) should be more than adequate.
Select a proppeller that will give you approximately 9000 RPM no more and you should be OK.
Your fuel should not contain less than 20% nitro content with 20% oil. Do not use a fuel with castor oil, it sometimes will varnish, gel and plug the small ports in the engine causing starting to be extremely difficult.

I liked the APC 15x11 on my 120 SC.
