OS-200 on 90 size Pattern ?

Hi,
Do you think it's possible to use OS-200 on 90 size Pattern Plan ( ~ 9.5 LBS ) ?

Thanks,

RE: OS-200 on 90 size Pattern ?

I have thought about that myself. Everything is possible, planes intended for a 1.20 fourstroke would be well suited to both a YS 1.40 FZ or a std. OS 200. The biggest problem would be torque and prop/undercarriage size. If the plane is sturdy enough, the power should not be an issue. Question is, which 90-size plane does not get the power it needs with a 90 two stroke or a YS 1.10? If you need more power than that then the plane is probably too heavy to fly properly.

Thanks
I currently have Tai-Ji with YS-110 fz on it and it fly great but i am thinking about the next engine ( i have no confident that the YS will last long... ) and i just wondered if i will be able to use it on 90 size as well.

Bring on the POWER :D . . would be fun . . BUT . .

You will probably have a lot of trouble getting most (if not, ANY) 90 size plane to balance with a OS 200 FS in the nose without a HEAP of lead in the tail.

All the extra weight would take away the flying quality (high wing loading), and would make for a less enjoyable flying experience (IMO) . .

Cheers, JB

The OS 200s doesn't weigh that much (34 ounces), but i wonder about the required fuel load, and the larger propeller, etc..........??[X(]

Hi GarySS
There is someone that using the OS-200 in our field. we measure the fuel consumption at full thorttle
and it was 1.75OZ per minute.

this is the same fuel consumption as my YS-110FZ !!

the OS-200 is ~ 200gr heavier then the YS.

The engine has 3HP so you can use 15x12 prop and it will
probably turn it around 9K.
