Tank size for 0.90 2S engine for pattern
Related to flying time, What size of a tank do you normally need for a 0.90 2-stroke engine 15x6 prop to fly the pattern sequence?
This is a 7.0 pound RTF model. |
RE: Tank size for 0.90 2S engine for pattern
16 ounces should do the trick with some to spare. Depends on the engine itself, 14 might be just fine too. But also depending on the sequence, 16 might get you through it twice.

RE: Tank size for 0.90 2S engine for pattern
Just for reference I am flying a 9# airplane with a 14 oz tank in Advanced running an OS 120-AX and 16-10 prop. I can easily get through the sequence twice during a 13 min practice flight. Constant throttle management is needed with high pitch props but less fuel is used.

Also for reference. I'm running 14oz (bladder tank), OS160 engine, 10.25lb aircraft, 17X12 APC prop. I can do 1 full intermediate pattern followed by 1/2 advanced pattern. Agree, requires good throttle management.
