Pipe mount for Greve-Webra 1.45
Can someone show a picture of the best setup for the Greve/Webra 1.45. The pipe is curently mounted directly to the belly pan of a FOCUS II and it keeps slipping back and de-coupling from the coupler in flight.
Thanks Don |

Don-
I don't know if my setup is even similar to yours, but here's what I've had success with. I have a Webra 160 with an ESD pipe in both my Smaragd and Genesis. The pipe is attached to nothing and just flops around in the pan. There's a piece of fuel tubing wrapped around the high point of the pipe as a bumper. The header is cut just after the curve and reassembled with a second piece of coupler. This way the system can bend in two places. I use spring clamps to hold the couplers on. I also put a sheet metal screw at every clamp point such that the coupler can slide over the head and then the clamp sits between the screw head and edge of the coupler. Everything is now locked together. The pipe is captive in the belly pan even if a coupler completely fails. Hope this helps. -Ron |

Thanks Don Pipe is mounted with a simple strap at it's approximate cg. The strap is mounted to a single lord mount. The lord is screwed into the pipe tunnel. That's it MattK |

I've had great success with this set-up on my Typhoon 2000. Pastorello's coupler at the front. Dave Brown mount at the rear, about two inches from the end of the pipe. There is also a Dave Brown mount under the pipe just aft of the gear with no o-rings, keeping the pipe from contacting the upper pipe tunnel. About 500 flights and I've replaced the coupler a couple of times, but no other issues. Very reliable. Webra 1.45, Mueller header.

Couplers you are referring to- teflon or standard silicon. Where does one get a Pastorello coupler? Link?
Thanks, Don |

Dear Mr. Szczur,
You can see some pictures from a Webra 160 with Greve pipe mounted in a Brazilian F3A plane. Many things are hand made with inexpensive materials. http://picasaweb.google.com.br/lineudc/SidiAnnas9Webra# Regards, Lineu |

I couldn't find the coupler on his website, but here's the link to it and his email address. I'd be surprised if he's not still selling the coupler.
