I am looking to get into pattern and I was wondering how I could get the ama rulebook. I know you are suppose to call, I tried and they had me on hold for a good 10 minutes so I gave up. Is there a way I could order one off line? Thanks for any information. Justin.

Rule Book

AMA has the Competition Regulations on their web page.

You can click on "Publications" and then "Competition Regulations" and then you can look at the part you want.

Hope this helps, :)

Then go get the Dave Patrick book on HOW to fly those patterns. One thing to see what they look like nuther thing to learn how to fly them.

The first and hardest pattern maneuver, fly a REAL straight line from one end of the box to the other. No curving no turns no climbs WINGS level.

Next draw 45-degree lines on graph paper till you can do it with your eyes closed. Then go fly that angle. It's steeper than you think.

Pattern is the closest thing to a ZEN sport. You’re competing against yourself!

http://modelaircraft.org/templates/a...c-aero2002.PDF

Above link is to the AMA Aerobatic competition rules. It is a PDF file, so you will need a Acrobat Reader.
A lot simpler than calling the AMA and ask them to send that small rull book.

DAve Patrick's Book

The book by Dave Patrick is called *Radio Control Aerobatics for Everyone*.

Tower has it. I should pick up a copy one of these days, too.
