Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
Hello Gents,
I know it is probably a bad time of the year for this, but i am in need of a modern pattern plane set up or designed for E-power I had my heart set on a Krill Spark but those are proving kind of hard to get. I am not looking to do a ton of building so the more close to completion it is the better. Budget will absolutely depend on the design, level of completion, and the included equipment. I am open to just about anything as long as it is of a "newer" design. I live in the Cleveland Ohio area so I will need a plane that either can be shipped or is within a "reasonable" driving distance. Which for me is about a 1 to 8 hours. Thank you Anthony |
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
Anthony. What's your opinion of a Prestige? I think there is one available that I may be able to hook you up with. Either way good luck, Mike

RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
Mike,
I like the Prestige. The one they lay up for electric is extremely light! I almost bought one off of RCU but I didn't have time to do the build. I would be interested in it, let me know if it is available and we can go from there.

RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
Another question Mike, do you have any idea what the availability of the Sickle is. I really like that plane as well but I understand they are relatively hard to come by?
|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
Anthony the Sickle is a really nice plane. It suffersfrom a weight issue that takes a lot of extra work to get itlegal. I'm hoping the builder can remedy it in the future without affecting the integrity and strength. I'm going tobring mine to the shootoutto show it off. It's a very solid plane in the air and looks beautiful.
I will find out for you about the availability. I have a growingrelationship with the builder in China and may soon be bringing the plane in. Mike |

RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
I think Anthony is looking for a full blown 2 meter ship...

Arch

|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
The Delro Addiction or E-motion is a good choice. Pre-painted white, pre-sheeted, hinged, etc. I flew one this weekend at it is a really superb flying plane and a must have for my EP choice. There is a thread on the Addiction and the E-motion, contact Chris Moon if you are interested.
If you want something less expensive and do not mind a one piece wing the Fliton Element wood ARF is a great choice,...you will have to go with the lightest EP set-up you can to make weight. You can contact Advantage Hobby at www.Advantagehobby.comor 1-217-398-2700. I think they are still doing free shipping. I think there are a few pre-owned EPBlack Magic VF3's out there for sale,..if your interested drop me a PM and I will pass on their contact info.

Good luck with your search.

Bill Holsten
Advantage Hobby Fliton Field Rep/Custom Airframes of America/Team Black Magic/ Dragon Fire customs/Team Dragon Fire Customs/Guardian America.

|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
The Axiome is pretty, but Arch is accurate, I am looking for a full two meter pattern plane.
Bill,
I am currently in the process of converting my Black Magic to E-power so I will have an electric Black Magic shortly. I am actully pretty excited about that. I just need to pick up an electric pattern so I have at least two.
Mike,
Keep me posted on your growing relationship with the Sickle people. It will be good to see it this weekend as I really like the lines.
|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
I know there is a completed rtf genesis thats all electric in the ads here on rcu under the pattern section.
|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
I would go with a CA model Passport or Osmose Evo, both are extremly good airplanes.
|
RE: Looking for Modern E-Pattern plane
I have already contacted thee owner of the Genesis that is in the ads section. He has another offer pending and has agreed to contact me should the plane actually be available.
I like the Osmose and Passport, If I can find one that doesn't require a boat load of building I would definitely be interested.
Keep the ideas coming.
Thanks
|
