RE: canopy latch

Try Central Hobbies and look for MK Magic Box...... they have 2 small levers that stick thru the side of the fuselage. You move oth of them aft and it releases the canopy. To attach the canopy, just move the levers forward and snap the canopy in place. Pretty slick. Little tricky to install, just takes a little patience to get things lined up right.

Here's a link http://www.centralhobbies.com/miscel...s/mkmagbx.html

Or you could go slightly 'old school' and use a Hatch Latch. Also at Central Hobbies. They work equally as well if installed properly, just not as 'nifty'... http://www.centralhobbies.com/miscel...s/bviolet.html

I used the Bob Knoll method which utilizes a single MK magic box. A little tricky to get aligned just right, but it can be done. One thing to note about the magic box...the pin must be inserted into the box in a near vertical fashion. This comes into play if using pins at one end of the canopy (pivot type action of the canopy). With no pins, I added a piece of a/c ply near the top rear of the canopy to resist side to side motion. It also helps if the magic box is actuated under slight pressure, so it will not rattle.....so far, some foam tape is doing the job nicely.
