RE: model stands..

It's a tough one to find. Mark Leseberg had one at the Nats this year that I was admiring. His was stamped with K&S models, but searching on that was rather fruitless. I also found it under "Impulse".

Here's a link to the manufacturer (I think) and it's clearly the same stand, but find a place to actually purchase it has been challenging. We need someone to reverse engineer it and start making them here!

Adrian Wong uses one here in NorCal. He purchased it in Japan I think. Perhaps he will chime in here and tell us where he got it. Adrian is returning from the World Championships so it might be a couple days before he replies.

The Stand that Mark, was using is from K&S model, it ok. The one you want, is the same one's that Team Japan used at the world championships
they are not cheap, I have a friend that order, them from Japan, the cost is around $600.00 dollar per stand

They do not look very hard to make.

They do not look very hard to make.
Especially for a model builder. About 15 years ago I measured a picture from a magazine ad for a foldable model stand, made a small balsa version to work out the details, then scaled it up and built a copy out of 1x2 fir, panelling and some carriage bolts from the lumber yard. It is tall enough to work on your plane while standing up and has two platforms for tools and/or a flightbox. It holds the plane about 36" high and folds, like a lawn chair, to about a 22"x34"x4" package.

These look quite a bit simpler.

Here is are two stands in Japan.
The link is http://www2.cnet.ne.jp/yamatoz/index.html

I found this link at the DAX RC web site in Japan, http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~dax/
The Pattern Planes from DAX are on my list when I win the Lottery.

Here is the Pit Assistant, as the web site calls it.
The Pit Assistant laying on the ground is Y32,500, approx $325.
The Pit Stand holding the pattern plane is Y42,000, approx $420.

After a couple of months I've come up with a good stand design. I took it to a local contest and got a very good response to them so I decided to make a few more and offer them to you guys here at RCU. If anyone is interested check out my site at:

RE: model stands..

I just tried the link and it seems to be pretty slow but does load. For some reason it brings up a blank page for a minute then my page loads. If you're still having problems send me a pm and I'll get you the info you're looking for. thanks for the heads up!
