RE: Neptuno 170
Hi Adrian! Just wondering how the Altair 200 flies compared to the Neptuno. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I am looking to buy a plane soon and am not sure which of these 2 to get, or maybe I might just get the new Asyuler. Thanks

Thanks I'd get the Neptuno... its a much better flying plane not only for the price but also because it is a wood built plane as well. |
RE: Neptuno 170
Derek, thanks for the advice. I am leaning towards the Neptuno at the moment.
Roald, I PM'd you my email address. Waiting for your info. Thanks guys! |
RE: Neptuno 170
Hi roald, I'm yepe infante we meet in cebu last year. Whats your battery setup on your cdi.
|
RE: Neptuno 170
Hee Yepe !
How is life ? As it looks now we will see each other in September again..... The CDI setup on my glow planes was quite simple: normal Futaba 4.8v 1500 mAh battery to the receiver. Then a cable from the receiver to the CDI unit. You just plug in the cable in a spare port of the receiver. This will feed the CDI unit. It will only work with 2.4 Ghz systems as they have no problem with interference. When you switch on the receiver, you also power the CDI. Advantage: very light and simple Disadvantage: can only make 2, maybe 3 flights. We are using about 480 mA per flight. From experience I can tell that when the battery is empty (forgot to charge) the engine start misfiring before the receiver goes into battery failsafe. I can not recommend to try this ;-) This setup is not really recommended by Futaba and they will not guarantee it, but almost all flyers I know of are using this. Me and my flying mate have been making more then 1200 flights like this with zero problems. Hope that this clearifies it a bit Roald |
RE: Neptuno 170

RE: Neptuno 170
Hey Guys,
I know this thread is a little old but does anyone have a cg recommendation (from leading edge at root) for the Neptuno? I have one nearly ready to go. Thanks, Garrett |
RE: Neptuno 170
start at 170mm I only have about 10 flts but feels OK, planning to go to the US Nats next year with the Neptuno.....very solidin the Air....Juan

RE: Neptuno 170
Hey Juan, Glad to see you are still doing this foolishness. I'd love to go to the Nats too but doubt it will happen. Family commitments prevent it right now.... Take care </p> |
RE: Neptuno 170
Thanks Juan,
I started around 190mm for the first dozen flights but have since moved it fwd to around 170mm to see how I like that. I only have 4 flights at 170 so far so will give it another dozen or so before deciding whether to fiddle with cg any more. Thanks, Garrett |
