before going nuts on the color schemes...

Before finishing a new model in all of it's glory, How many people wait until the flight trimming and adjustments are maid?
Is this a common procedure?

Paint weight and distribution will change everything on the trimming, finish the model completely so you don"t have to set it up twice.

Also, if your model is glow powered, it will be a lot easier to paint before fuel ever touches the airframe.

Hey everyone,

I am entering sportsman and will be flying the Ultrasport. It will be covered in Monokote- no paint, and powered with a Magnum .61 two stroke.

My thinking is I may need to alter the nose a little depending on setting the final thrust angle on the engine. I was thinking I may not want to finish everything if I need to cut it all out to reset the nosecone if I am unhappy with the factory specs.

This probably explains my post a little better as well.

I would say finish the whole model first, there should be enough clearance in the cowl cutouts for adjustments

I flew an Ultra Sport years ago, and the normal setup is really close. I wouldnt worry about adjusting the front for thrust. I honestly prefer the method of mixing rudder to wide open throttle for thrust adjustments anyway as it is problem specific, and is easier to change as you change props.

I'm feeling better about things now.

Thanks for the help.

I would paint it first, thats just me. But I understand the desire to delay painting. I am having a hard time dreaming up my paint scheme for my BM VF3...and it gets annoying having the paint scheme undecided.
