Just a reminder the Spring FARM pattern contest is this weekend, May 29th-30th. As many of you know, this is a beautiful flying site and great contest. On Friday around noon, we will have several experienced pilots available to help with coaching and setup. The field now has 110V access available for charging.

Don Szczur, are you attending this year's event ?. I would like to meet you and have you look at my pattern ship, a Exective Airframes "Patriot". I am new to this part of the sport and want to learn.

Yes. If all goes well I'll be out Friday for coaching all who are interested. Will bring angle meter for squareness checks, diamond loop angles, cuban 8's and reverse cuban 8's. Plus circular checks for rolling loops and avalanche maneuvers. We believe these are all very important for symmetrical maneuvers and achieving good scores. Also maneuver centering is of utmost importance. Smooth, constant radius between each segment completes the list.

Regards,
Don

Larry said meeting at 8:00 and flying at 9:00. Looks like about 30 entrants since we had 24 sign up today during practice time.

This is a great event. The first day had perfect weather and lots of good flying. It is great seeing everyone's plane and watching them in the air. This year has really raised the bar in pilot skills. The competition is stiff, and that makes it more challenging and fun!

It is so important that we support the lower classes. they are the future of pattern. It's amazing to me to see some young kid come up and whip my butt! Old onew to I guess!

A nice weekend and great flying from all contestants. Much different conditions than our previous three contests this year. Weather was very nice all weekend. Summer here we come. A big thank you Larry, Bill, Fran, Sue, Nick and the FARM club for hosting this contest. All planes in tact and the usual full scale airshow and aviation atmosphere at this location.

Most awesome takeoff was Gerald, voted unanomously. Dog contest was close. Lotto, Chewey, shaggy (Larry's dog); Gene's (mountain dog). Chewey won with home field advantage. Marking as many canopies (left next to their planes) and transmitter cases as possible. No short circuits, I'm told.

I would like to thank everyone who attended the FARM SPRING PATTERN CONTEST. As CD of the event I was very happy to see so many turn out for the event. I also want to thank everyone who made this event happen. The FARM CLUB, Bill and Nick, who kept the event moving allowing 30 pilots to fly 6 rounds and get on the road for home by 1:30 on Sunday. I better not forget my wife who helped with the scoring the whole weekend. As the NSRCA District 2 VP I am very proud of District 2. It has alot of great pilots who make D2 a great place to fly pattern. Working with everyone in the district as been a pleasure! By the way Dave Snow thanks for coming. Great to have someone that far away at our meet.
