HYDEOUT

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE C/G ON THE HYDEOUT? ALSO, HOW DOES THE HYDEOUT COMPARE TO THE FOCUS II OR SIMILAR PATTERN PLANES? THANKS JIM

RE: HYDEOUT

CG should be near the front of the wing tube to start. It is just a little older than the original Focus design, but it is a very good airplane.

Thanks, Arch. I bought the plane used recently and in the first flights I found when going inverted I need more down elevator than I expected. When upright it continues level even when power is cut until speed is very low and falls off slowly. I thought of moving c/g aft but wanted starting point . Thanks again for your input. Jim

Bipeflr,

Keep in mind, you dont want to set your CG based on this. You want the CG based on all the other trimming factors and this will help eliminate any pitch mixes. If the plane needs more down than you like, check your expo settings. If you have a lot of expo, take some of it out only one the down side. I personally run a little more down elevator, and actually a little expo to make it more sensitive inverted so that I can run a forward CG which helps eliminate any pitch mixes as well as makes it lock lines better than an aft CG. If the other parts of the trimming ideas tell you the CG is OK, then adjust your rates/expo to get the feel you want.

Memory serves me, about 1/4" in front of the wing tube.
