CD Competing

Am interested in opinions from cometitors only, about whether the CD should compete in a local contest.

Several variables here, so assume outside the CD's flight, he is running the contest and flight lines etc.

Before it begins this has nothing at all to do with unfairness, so let's not go there, simply whether a CD can fly and run the contest.

Good, Bad or soso

Thanx in advance

GO for it! Most competent CD's (and you are one already!!) ALWAYS have co-cd's to sort things out as needed...

In my experience, when I CD'd and flew, my flying was marginal at best, and seemed to be just wear and tear on equipment and more stress....wasn't a great deal of "fun"; but could be for more capable folks...

I did, however, always make it a point to personally ask ALL of the contestants in the class I was competing IN what they thought about it...

I would think it would be more stressfull to fly the contest as well as keep tabs on scoresheets, scoring errors, flight lines, registration...lunch, etc, etc.

but, most of the CD's up here fly as well as run the show. it seems that you must have a good support group to help keep things moving, though. the local club members are a good source for volunteers. I guess it would be up to you as the CD as to how well you manage your "staff"
