Default Servo question. Enlightenment, please!

I am bumfuzzled. Needingstouter servosthan the Grayson nanos I have on the elevator and ailerons of my sport-built Great Planes 3D EP Yak 55, I am looking at the Futaba lineup.

The S3107 Micro (9g) is the exact same size as the S3114 High-Torque Micro (7.8 g). The weights are listed as the same, .3 oz. The High-Torque servo is shown as having a lot more torque, yet is $3.00 cheaper. I don't get it. What do the specifications 9g and 7.8g refer to? Why is the stronger servo cheaper? Why would one pay three dollars more for what seems to me to be the lesser servo?????

I'm missing something here. I would appreciate some edgumacation, please.

Thanks,
Dave

Actually they do not weigh the same. The 9g and 7.8g are the weights in grams
Info came from http://www.servocity.com/html/futaba_servos.html
S3107 weighs 9 grams, 0.3 ounces. Operates on 4.8 volts only. Has bronze bushings for the shaft
S3114 weighs 7.8 grams, 0.27 ounces. Operates on 4.8 or 6.0 volts. Plastic case serves as bearing
The difference is only 0.03 ounces but that matters in some applications.
The bronze bushing in the 3107 costs more than a plain case, and adds weight, but probably makes the servo last longer before wear makes the shaft wobbly.

Thank you very much. That makes perfect sense. I kinda thought that the .3oz weight for each might be rounded, but the rest of the equation eluded me. The LHS couldn't tell me this answer.

Thanks again!
Dave
