JR Radio History & Pics
Needing History and Pictures of JR Radios
Guys - I am wanting to collect the history and pictures of JR radios just to have a one source booklet of all they have produced over the years. Mainly in the USA, but others types would be added in a different section. So all those of you who have JR radios, please provide me with any history and take pics of your radios and send them in. I went to JR website and it only post new or recent stuff. No dates however so I am starting from scratch with that. help me edit and complete the list
Here is what I have:
11x (2.4ghz) - 2010
9503 (2.4ghz) - 2009
12x (2.4ghz) - 2008
9303 (2.4ghz) - 2007
9303 - 2006
12x - 2005
PCM10x - 2004
6102 -2003
662 - 2002
652 - 2001
631 - 2000
421 - 1998
Quattro 400 - 1997
x3810 - 1995

378 - 1993
347 - 1992
Max 6 - 1987
Max 4 - 1985

Was world engines Radios the first edition of JR?
My dates may be way off,it is a guess at this oint jus to get this started. All pics and background info including manuals would be helpful

Not the link, but the image. Save the image to your computer, and then post it from there.

RE: JR Radio History & Pics
Never heard of the 8303. Was it a short-lived model between the 8103 and 9303?
Tim, if you use the full model number that'll make things easier. xp9303 and X9303, for example. That'll help with models like the 8103, where there was original XP8103 and then the XP8103DT that added digital trims. Are you going after just the models officially imported into the US, or anything by JR? The XP3810 was the non-US XP8103. Some software differences, as Horizon spec'd what they wanted.

RE: JR Radio History & Pics
JR was originally imported by Circus Hobbies, of Las Vegas, NV. As such the radios are labelled Circus Hobbies. There was an Apollo 7, Century 7, Unlimited 8, Century 9 all from the mid 80's. I bought my Apollo 7 in 1985 and the Century 7 was also available then as was the Unlimited 8 & Century 9.
I still have my Apollo 7, Century (single & dual stick), Galaxy 8, PCM10SXII, & PCM10X
I have the old catalogs from Circus Hobbies filed away at home. If I get a chance I will dig them out and scan them.
I also have some early 70's World Engines radios, these were not made by JR to the best of my knowledge.

RE: JR Radio History & Pics
Dan is correct.
I was TDY at Nellis AFB and went out to the Circus Circus Hobbies store and picked my Apollo 7 up. The showroom was pretty small and didn't have a great deal in it.

8303 came out about 1994-1995
Your picture is of an xp9303...
I've never heard of an "8303." That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but people's typos that are found in Google don't mean it exists, either.

A Google search for JR 8303 will bring up several references -like this pic
