Small Micro Receivers:
Hi Guys,
I need some suggestions toward some receivers. I am looking for a small light weight receiver that can go in a Great Planes L-39 Jet. I am looking for something on the 72-MHz band and 4 or 7 channel, preferably 6-channels.
I have looked at the following:
* Hitec- Micro - 055 - 5-ch.
* Castle- Creations Microstamp 4-ch.
* Castle- 7P 7Ch. Fm Prog Vert. RX
Not sure what the difference is between these two receivers except for the distinction of Vert. vs. Horiz.
* Castle- 7P 7Ch. Fm Prog Horiz. RX
* GWS- Micro - 6-ch.
* GWS- Pico - 4ch.
I am looking for one to put in the GP L-39, needs good range, light weight, and just a good solid receiver.
Any comments about these receivers and any additions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ed

RE: Small Micro Receivers:
Hi Ed,
I would think any of those receivers would be a good choice. You don't want to push the range with the GP L-39 too much though, it gets real small, real fast
I have a lot of fun with mine. I use the little Futaba 2.4 FASST 6 channel receiver, so mine is fasster than yours will be
Good luck,
Pete

Hi Ed,
If you really want that L-39 to go real fast, just hop it up to a 4S pack[X(].
I still have the R/C Report review, where they experimented and did a 4S upgrade and changed the motor. Their first attempt ended in shredded foam, the second version was very fast, but at my age, too fast.
I don't know what radio you'll be using, but if you can run independent aileron channels with some differential dialed in, it will help by creating a little proverse yaw for the turns, without a rudder you don't want any adverse yaw in a model.
Good luck,
Pete
