You would be safe using a 2500mah Eneloop battery. Eneloop is a form of NiMh that holds it's charge more like a LiPo.

I use 3cell 2500mah LiPos for Tx batteries in my JR XP9303. I do not have a 10C so I do not know if it will tolerate the 12.6v fully charged 3cell LiPo. Some people install special Diodes in line with the battery leads to the Tx. Each Diode drops the voltage .3v. Some use two in series.

What I like is the charge takes less than an hour and I don't have to recharge for weeks.

Some also use LiFe batteries which operate at 3.3v/cell.

If you have to charge every few flights, somethin ain't right. The stock 700mAh Nicad should give over 2 hours of run time. Are you using a peak detecting charger, instead of the stock wall wart over night charger? If so, try leaving the radio on the stock charger for at least 14 to 16 hours, then see if you get more run time.
A replacement Eneloop pack would be a very good choice, probably giving about 8 hours of run time on a charge.
Good luck,
Pete

FYI, my 10C lasts for about a month with the 2650mAh lipo I have in it. Never a problem re: voltage on a fresh charge.

Something is not right if you only get short battery life, replace the battery. I do not recommend using Li Po in TX although some folks do. Use a 1500 Ma NiMh and all will be fine.

I think Post #5 stated that he is using a LiPo in his 10C.

If you had to, you can Fly, Charge in between flights, and Fly. You can fly indefinitely using this method. After 33 years of flying with NiCads and NiMh batteries, dealing with the slow recharge rates and the self discharge, there is really no reason to ever go back to NiCad or NiMh. LiPo, LiFe, and Eneloop are the way to go. Soon, there will be even better choices as battery technology develops.

I use this in my 10C. $20 shipped to your door. I just re-charged mine after 17 hours. It was reading about 10.7 volts. I usually recharge at 11 volts which is 15 hours. Can't beat it.

Hi, caseyairbus...

I have the T10C with lipo and it works flawlessly.
You should place 2 diodes in series to have a voltage drop from 1.5 to 1,8 v,
so that the alarm of T10C works properly.
I used 2 pairs(diodes) in series and parallel on each other, so even if one of them fails (burns)
randomly, the circuit will continue to be powered ....
Otherwise if the T/x suddenly go out of power while flying ...... [&o]

The battery is from the known Chinese seller, specially constructed for T/x rated for low C discharging.
It comes with 3 cables, 1 for Futaba ,1 for JR plus 1 for the balanser.
I removed the JR plug and added there, a tiny board with the diodes plus another plug for Futaba.
The new plug gives power to T/x through the diodes.
The original Futaba plug is used for the charging....

....This circuit gives me a voltage drop of 1,8 v.
The Futaba alarm rings at 8,5 v + 1,8 v = 10,3 v.
You charge the lipo at full power and when the voltage falls to 10.3 (safely), the Futaba alarm is ringing .
The good thing is that ....... You charge...... and it .....Holds.............!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just plug mine in direct. Works great. No diodes. Buddies in my club have been doing this on the 9C for years. Almost 5 years? Not one single problem. Now we all have them on our 10C's no problems. What I do is use the timer to let me know when to charge. Once it gets to 15 hours it gets to around 11 volts. Then I start thinking about recharging. But I went to 17 hours and 10.7 volts last time since I was just setting up a plane at home.
