5955 has 1024 resolution while the 7955 has 2048.

The 5955 is still available. Kind of. It is the Tower TS-170.

The 5955 was way over rated @ 333oz. They are more like in the high 200's. They also did/do not have overload protection and if you push them in a little to hard they will smoke in a heartbeat. If you are asking because you have to decide between the two, get the 7955's, even at a higher price. Even better spend about $20 more and get the Futaba 9157.

I was asking because I had found someone selling two like new 5955's, but I think I will wait and get the 7955"s. Thanks

The 59's can't be repaired anymore either (motor wise)...

I sent 1 in for a fried motor and they couldn't repair it. Offered to sell me the 79 equiv for a 'reduced' price (street price). Didn't do it because the new replacement wouldn't match all of the other 59's and I'd need to replace all of them to keep the speed/torque matched...
