Is there a way to slow down the flap servo speed?
I have two servos with a reversing Y-harness running flaps. I'd like to slow them down to make them more realistic looking when deployed. Is there anything on the market that does this?

How about just using digital servos, and programming their speed slowwer? Will that give me the results I'm looking for?

yup, I have the hitec programmer. Just never used it yet for other than servo centering. I was going to experiment with a digital servo but just checking to see if someone else has already been there done that..........

Hi,
I think some transmitters allow you to program servo speed. I haven't looked it up lately, but I think the Hitec Aurora 9 and JR 9303 will do the job. Does anyone know of any other radios that allow servo speed programming?

Futaba 8FG will provide it on any one function, though you can have as many channels as you need assigned to that one function.

If your TX is able to program this function, see if it can set different speeds for flaps up and flaps down. The high-end JR and Futabas can both do this, probably others as well.
Having the flaps come down slowly to look more scale, and to "ease" in any trims you may have mixed to the flaps (not uncommon to have some elevator motion mixed from the flaps to correct trim change) is a good thing .. but it's nice to have them come up more quickly .. maybe not "snap" up at full speed, but come up briskly. This could be important on a go-around where you need to get the plane accelerating quickly and might want to go from full to partial flap.

The Spektrum DX8 has servo speed as well. I have an MVVS 26 gasser that was bogging when I hit the throttle too fast so I slowed the servo speed and solved that problem real cheap and quick.
