Default 8FG Super vs 10CG

i have a Futaba 7C 2.4 radio, and now im considering to change it. my 2 options are the new 8FG SUPER and the 10CG. my question to you guys is what would be the best buy? would any of these be capable with telemetry? and also are they much different in the programming?

the 8FG programing is different. I have both. and it took me a fair amount of time to learn the 8fg radio. It's not really harder to use than the 7. but it is different. I had trouble with the manual. But if you know someone that uses the radio, they could probably explain it in a very short time.

There is a video somewhere by futaba showing how to program basic functions.

The 8fg without a doubt. It is easier to program. Has more functions. Just take your time when you get it. And be sure you understand what each function really does. The throttle cut function is... errr.. how shall I say this... non-inutuitve. But it works just fine. I have a post somewhere in this forum that explains challenges I had with the radio.

I think the 8fg and 8fg super are the same. Just the super is more recent s/w.

Are there specific functions that you need that are missing on the 7? I moved to the eight because for a brief time I needed more model memory. I really like that I can back up the model memory to a computer. I also wanted the two timers. But aside from those things, the 7 did everything I needed. Backing up the models is a big deal though when you need it of course.

I have both the Futaba 7C and 8FG Fasst systems. Both the 8FG and 8FG Super systems run the same software, currently version 4.1. The only difference between the two is that the sliders on the right and left sides of the transmitters on the 8FG Super have longer tabs than on the 8FG. I like both the 7C and 8FG radios but perfer the 8FG. It is a much more powerful radio. With respect to the 10C, the 8FG has more channels (14) and is user upgradeable via downloads from the internet. I have already upgraded my 8FG 3 times. With respect to the learning curve, the 8FG took a little longer than the 7C because it is much more powerful and fexible than the 7C.

I think your best bet would be to post that sort of question in a forum specific to the kind of flying you intend to do. I've seen discussion in heli forums and high speed electric forums. The eight is a newer design I think.

There is a S-FHSS module available for the 10C but not for 8FG.

I have both the 8 and the 10 ch radios, and for gliders, i prefer the 10. I do believe the is more capable in many ways, and i had the 10 first. So maybe thats why.
