Assistance, please…

I’ve a tri-set of electric retracts that simply will not work properly with FASST receivers. What you are about to see does not happen with JR or Hitec!

They will; however, work with a pair of JR Matchbox servos but I need them to work as they should with my FASST as they do with other brands.

The distributor thinks the FASST receiver requires a signal boost – I think not. Your opinions or suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

System: Futaba 12Z w/R6014HS and FS, and R617. Same issue with each receiver.

Because the matchbox isolates the retracts from the receiver.....my guess is that the retracts are noising up the receiver.
As a test....you can plug in only one retract directly into the receiver...no matchbox. Then go through the tests again. Im not sure reversing the direction mid travel means anything other than proving that the retracts WILL generate a lot more noise if they all reverse direction at the same time. If the first retract works ok....keep adding retract units and I'll bet it will croak again.
Also....move the transmitter a bit....dosent matter how far...just get a diferent antenna relationship to the receiver.
Wall warts are noisey....if you have any plugged in closeby...unplug them.
What transmitter are you using?
Does it have a Futaba module or an after market module made by some other company?

remember when fasst first hit the market, there were a few folks with problems with some non futaba brand servos not working properly with the lower signal voltage that futaba had chosen to use. most likely your distributer guy is right, get a signal booster or get another brand of retract.

Correct, that receiver R6014FS (discontinued for a reason) has a lower signal on channels 6 thru 14 I think, if you try it with channels 1 thru 6 it will work just fine.

I just saw the video, that has nothing to do with the low voltage channels with the old receivers, rx blinking red like that is related to voltage in general (voltage dropping below 2.7v) or loosing signal.

Just to test something, can you connect a 2S LiPo batt there or a A123 pack if you have one?

P.S. please also check if you have a module base radio that the module is seated correctly.

I suspect that the 5 cell Nimh pack voltage is dropping too low under the load of those great looking retracts. I would check to see what the voltage on the receiver bus is dropping to when the retracts are cycling. As Doug suggested a 2S A123 pack would be able to handle the load a lot better.

You guys know your shiggidy.

It was that weak ass 6v Nimh. Plugged in a Li Ion 7.4v and presto – all three worked just fine. Added 5 more servos to the mix and no hay problema.

I always have duel batts on my large birds – this one for sure.

When I maiden the bird that the retracts belong to, I’ll place the link here.
