Default JR radio

I am buying a rs4-ss and my hobby store suggested the JR XR2 Am radio. is this a good radio to start with? I just want to make sure i am getting something reliable and that there is nothing else out there that will give me the same specs for the same price ya know? Thanks again

Go with FM. Am radios have many problems that you need to watch out for. Thanks.
Clint

AM and FM send out different radio signals. It's just like your stereo, FM sounds better because the wavelengths are closer together and so you get a clearer sound. Same with AM and FM radios. AM's wavelengths are farer apart and thus creating the possible situations of having more glitches. Thanks.
