Default JR X3810 radio?

JR X3810 radio, is this radio anygood to start with as a rookie, its 2012 and not sure if
its up to the job??

It is an 8103 had on for years...excellent radio...very easy to convert to 2.4 ghz..you will like it...

That radio will serve you very well getting started and very well might have all the features that you'll ever need in a transmitter- it will take a lot to outgrow it. I would look at putting a 2.4 ghz module in it as well and you'll be set.
