Default Swap gimbals from Futaba Conquest to Futaba T8UAFs?

The left stick on my Futaba T8UAFs transmitter has broken. It's not the stick that has broken, but the plastic part of the gimbal that the stick attaches to. I really like the transmitter and want to continue using it.

I happen to have an old Futaba Conquest transmitter that I would be willing to cannibalize for parts to repair my T8UAFs. The gimbal mechanisms look identical from the outside. I have not yet opened the radios to look inside.

Has anyone tried transplanting gimbals? Can I simply swap them out, or will I run into problems?

That depends on how handy you are with a soldering iron. There are a number of wires that need to be moved from one to the other, and NOT mixed up.

Soldering I can do. But are they likely to be mechanically compatible?

That you will have to determine, by visually examining. Should be able to get enough without completely disassembling anything.

Well, after looking at them, the answer is no. The gimbal assemblies are different.

The good news is that the gimbal assembly on the T8UAFs appears to be easy to replace. I just need to find one. I suspect a new one from Futaba, if available at all, would be expensive.

PM me. I'll see what we can work out.
