Spektrum had a big promotion in December as you received a free receiver with a TX purchase. The savings were considerable with certain models. If a LHS in your area has leftovers they should still honor the sale. Horizon also had a 20-27% off sale on Monday but now it is 10% off using code XTRA10 at checkout. https://www.horizonhobby.com/

Clearance sale now $249. for DX7s and Ar 8000 receiver or $249. for a DX8 no receiver. Many DX 8's hardly used going for under $200. in for sale threads.

Yes a lot of folks moving up to the DX9 and it is a very nice radio.
