Default Is Jeti the only one?

Iím researching a new radio. My JR 12x DSMX is getting older. I really like a radio with a metal chassis. Ialso like the ability to fine tune the receivers antenna placement. Itís hard tofind info of all the manufacture web site to compile a list of desirable attributebefore I make a decision. The two main questions I have is who make a high endradio with a metal chassis and gives you feedback on the signal quality at the receiverend? I understand Jeti has telemetry which monitors signal quality and a metalchassis but who else?.

I have both the Taranis and Weatronic and both give me receiver/servo voltage and RSSI (received signal strength Indicator) feedback via telemetry. Additional telemetry sensors are available.

While I do love my Taranis and Open TX is as good as it gets, a friend of mine has the Jeti DC16 and side by side it is no contest when comparing the case, switches and gimbals. .

The Jeti exudes quality and precision and the gimbals have to be felt to be believed. They are incredibly smooth and the metal case is just beautiful.

There are some pictures floating about of models with colour screens. I don't know much about them but may be worth researching before a purchase.

They sure look nice.

I forgot to mention there was a pilot there with an 18mz (Team Futaba). Accept for the color screen I didn't get the $1300 difference in additional price. I have to admit that the 18mz is a very comfortable radio to hold but am willing to make the tradeoff for what the DS-16's sturdy metal chassis offers me.

My DS-16 came last Tue. I was very pleased with the quality of the packaging. I converted my radio to mode 1 today and the interior of the TX is amazing. Every component is first class. The mode change was easy to do and the software self explanatory. I'm looking forward to configuring plane and flying.

Another mode 1 flyer...I think we are dying breed.

Glad you are happy with the radio. Didn't know mode changes were easy on this one.

Thanks for the info.

I'm in Texas now with a friend who also flies mode one. Flew the DS-16 yesterday for the first time. So far so good. We range tested it on the ground and got over a half mile on a R5-l EX receiver. I couldn't see the plane but my buddy was on the cell telling me it still was responding and the TX still had telemetry. Never tried that before, but I never had access to that much flat land.

I have had the DS-16 for about 9 months and I love it and you will too. My brother and I are Mode1 flyers and the only ones in our area. Welcome to the Jeti club.

I'm back I AZ and using my DS-16 daily. The more I use it the more I like it. Still learning new feature and testing all the new equipt. I'm currently flying a R3/RSW with a Cortex in my Carden Extra 330. Very simple to setup and the telemetry is great. I have the MGPS and have voice events for Battery, Ant strength, Altit, speed and distance.

I'm using my old Kadet Senior with an Evo 10CC gas engine as a receiver test bed. I'm sold!

Another club member bought a DS-16 about the same time as me so I have someone to share with.
