Default Wanting a Spectrum Radio... 7, 7s, 8, etc.....

I had an older spectrum 7 that I was using for three of my airplanes... It is an older model I believe and is no longer working.... I am confused over reading the new model spectrum info as to what is available and the prices... It seems for example the new 7 spectrum cost more that the new 7s... they also do not have the same features... A couple of years ago a 7s was a better transmitter that the 7 and the prices reflected the differences... It is no longer that way or it seems to me to now be different and a little confusing..

What model of new transmitter would you recommend in the Spectrum line... 7, 7s, or 8... I am suggesting these models based on price.... Thanks.... Richard

I am really confused by the new Spectrum models, 7 , 7s , & DX8.... They seem to have different features, different batteries/options and the pricing is confusing... I have a friend at the flying field and he has the DX8 and it is a good radio but he told me today that he would rather have the model 7s...

The low price tags on the DX7S and DX8 is because they are on Close-Out. They won't be available much longer.

The new DX7 (aka "DX7G2") blows away the DX7S and the DX8 in capabilities and ergonomics. The DX8 is better than the DX7S (I'm surprised that someone would prefer the 7s over the 8).

That's my opinion, as one who makes them.

The DX-8 and DX-9 seem to be good TX's The DX-8's I have were supplied new with lipos that have twice the capacity of the DX-9's batteries.

The DX6 or DX7 meet the needs of most modelers, and they have a good price tag on them. I would compare the individual features with what you expect to use, and do that.

If you fly fixed-wing or quads the DX6 will probably be good. If you do helicopters then you probably want the DX7.
