Futaba 14 channel rceiver
What's the difference between the Futaba R6014SF and R6014HS receivers. It seems the HS model is a later version? Some have said the HS is faster speed? I don't run my 8 channel receivers in high speed mode so I don't have to worry about servo compatibility anyway so high speed is not an issue for me. I have heard about dots painted on SF cases. I have one that has a gold dot between the antennas. Not sure what this means if anything. Hopefully you guys can offer some insight.
Thanks in advance,

It's not a "R6014SF", it's an R6014FS and was the first version of that fourteen channel rx that was released. There were issues with heat and with low signal power output of 2.7 volts and Hitec servos, among others, would not work with this receiver.
I personally would NOT consider using one of these rx's.
The HS version is actually the fourth incarnation of the R6014 and seems to be a good rx. The high speed mode only works on the first six channels when using digital servos. You do not need to use that function.

Yes, the HS is able to run your first 6 servos faster, marked by red, it is also able to run your analog servos at their normal speed as you know, the FS is an earlier version of the HS.
The gold dot means that it has been reprogrammed or fix and it will no longer give the user the problems that the earlier versions did.
I got me one of these receivers a few days ago and will be using it on an airplane that needs a 10 chl receiver, am iI worry about its performance, nope.

There were actually 3 FS version rx's; first had no dot and the problems I described including shutting down when they got hot. Second version has a white dot and the signal voltage is up to 3.0 volts and it has different hardware than the original. The third has a gold dot and different hardware again, then as Futaba is want to do, they released a new rx e.g. the HS version with no consideration for all the other stuff that didn't work.
As much money as there is in these models, why risk it on an out of production rx?

Just wondering, im considering a new radio running FHSS or both FHSST. Are you required to use digital servos will analog still work. Being a sailplane guy speed is not a primary concern
