Futaba 10JA caution
I just purchased a Futaba 10JA, from Tower for $349.99. When I opened the box I was surprised to find out it requires four AA alkaline batteries. Or if you want something
rechargeable they offer battery pack for an additional $38.00. BTW you also have to purchase the charger. No mention of this in the description. I decided to return it. Be careful !!

Battery requirements ( 4 alkaline) for the transmitter are listed right in the Tech Notes for the Futaba 10JA in the Tower description as well as needing to use a charger if going with an optional nimh battery.

Most 2.4 transmitters are low voltage devices today so four alkaline has become the norm except in the higher range systems. When you look at the optional rechargable battery pack and charger prices, one can buy a lot of alkaline batteries. A matter of taste I suppose. I run several transmitters of both alkaline and rechargable so either is of no issue to me.
