Default Strange electronic gadget

I am refreshing a Great Planes Ultimate that has not been flown for several years. I found this widget between the dual NiMH receiver batteries and the Futaba PCM receiver.
It can't be a battery isolator because there is only one input. I see a small capacitor on one end?
Anyone know what this is, what it does?

Ditto on it being a voltage regulator.

Previous owner may have had 6 volt packs and only wanted to send 4.8 volts to the receiver/servos.
