Transmitter/Receiver problem
So, my friend had gave me his old truck a Losi XXX and i just had to get all new electronics and anyway, long story short, the receiver/transmitter doesn't seem to work for the 1/10th scale. But I can confirm that it works on the micro i have (1/18th)
If anyone has any ideas on why that might be, i'd be happy to know. My friend let me use his old HPI receiver/transmitter for now and that seems to work fine.
Also, this is my first post on the forums so sorry if i misplaced this thread

It could be your newer transmitter uses the newer protocol, and the old Losi uses one that is no longer supported.
Get the model numbers of the receivers and transmitters in question, and we can tell you exactly.

I couldn't imagine that being the problem as all he gave me was a rolling chassis, but I'm expert, that's for sure.
The receiver/ transmitter i bought are both HK-GT2B.( From doing a bit of searching, is a rebranded FlySky)
It wasn't a binding problem as I successfully got it to work on my 1/18
The reciver/ transmitter that's currently in and working is a HPI RF-11/TF-11
Can't find the part/model number of the ESC i bought, not sure if needed, but it's a "Leopard V2 60A Esc"

I'm not mix matching, i bought the combo off of Hobbyking, The receiver is HK-GT2B and the transittmer is also a HK-GT2B.
Any other ideas on why this would work with a micro, but not a 1/10th?
Maybe power draw? thats the only idea i could come up with

How about voltage? Are they both giving the receiver the same? That would be an ESC question. Is the ESC opto-isolated? or does it have a BEC in it?
What DOES happen when you try to use them? Maybe a video?

+1 with Andy
What does happen with everything connected and power on? Lights flashing on esc or receiver? Any noise from esc? Does the servo work with it? Throttle trim setting on transmittter at neutral? Throttle calibrated to esc?
Leoprd esc manual

Come on guys, read what he is saying. He has a receiver/transmitter pair that works in one vehicle but not another. That makes no sense. If it works in one it should work in anything. Something else in that vehicle is wrong . The BEC might not be supplying voltage to the receiver would be my first guess.

Sorry it took a day or so to repost, I wouldn't be able to make a video at the moment at least.
Basically what happens when I try to put the combo in my truck, it blinks likes its unbound, then go through the binding process, and when it should bind at the end, the light shuts completely off and no transmitter response. It also gets hot to the touch, hot enough to make note of ( a good sign of lost power? )
I'll send a reply with a picture of the ESC specs from my phone as they are on the side of the box and are beyond my technical understanding LOL
