Default Need help programming FLAPPERONS on a Futaba 12z

Hello all,

I have an Escapade 30cc I acquired built with ailerons only. I fly with a Futaba 12z and put a 14ch Rx in the plane to run dual ailerons. I am trying to setup Flapperons. Unfortunately the 12z has no pure Flapperon function menu. I did a few searches and found that you have to go through the Camber mix menu. The plane is set up in the Model menu with Dual aileron servos, Single Rudder servo and Dual Elevator servos. I followed the steps on the Futaba FAQ page and here on RCU but still cannot get Flapperons to work.

Anybody out there with a 12z that can help?? Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

best guess from some one who has not set up flaperons on the 12 z yet.
wing type, aileron 2 servo flap 2 servo
camber mix
two program mixes right aileron to right flap, left aileron to left flap.

didn't look to see if there is already a preset flaperon mix under the programable mix menu.
might also look under the glyder aircraft type menu.

good luck

You should post this in the Futaba only section above.

A similar question is posted there and the solution didn't work. Thought posting here would bear more fruit but obviously not.

I thought Flaperon would be a standard mix on these transmitters. I'm needing to program flaperons in my 14 channel transmitter. Same problems, no one seems to know..

I have to confess that Spectrum has this ability where these Futaba offerings do not. Brings me back to programming my Futaba 8ch Tx. LOL.

Between the Perry swap meet and life I have not been able to sit and crack this Rubik's Cube. I'm sure the answer lies in activating multiple mixes as a work around. If I find a workable solution I will post.

Pete, I believe what you may be looking for is 'Air Brake'. Page 96 of your 12Z manual. It allows aileron deflection (up or down) as well as trim offsets for flaps, ailerons and elevators, etc. I use it on my pattern planes to reflex (up) the ailerons to kill lift, increase drag on landings.
